![]() We first met Edie Grover, June 2008 when we purchased our first goats. We have been very pleased with the stock
from Egwildwind. In 2009 we again purchased stock from Ms. Edie. In 2009 our boy's Andrew And Matthew
won 3 Reserve Grand Champions Market Meat, Grand Champion Market Meat at the Alabama National Fair,
Reserve Champion Breeding Doe, Overall Reserve Champion Breeding Doe. Ms.Edie as well as Gary Quay
have been so helpful, and go above and beyond in teaching the boy's in how to care for their animals. We appreciate
Edie's friendship and look forward to purchasing stock from Edie in the future. We went into this endeavor just
buying a few goats. We have gained so much more in our friendship with Edie, Gary, and Ron.

I first heard of Edie and beautiful goats from a friend of a friend about a year ago. I had just started trying to break into the Boer industry. I was very green and new to the business, but I knew after looking on Edie's web page that what I was told about her goats was true. I knew I had to have some. I was very pleasantly surprised to find after getting in touch with her, that the best thing about Edie and her farm isn't the goats however. Its how knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge she is. I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn, but with friends like Edie Grover and Gary Quay. I feel I can't help but to be successful in the Boer goat industry. Yes Wildwind farm has quality goats, but they have quality people as well.

We
met Edie at a show a few years ago and were very impressed with the animals that
we saw. We decided to visit her farm and were just as impressed with every
animal there. There isn't a Boer goat there that we wouldn't be happy to own. We
bought one doe and then came back in a few months to get two more. We have been
very happy with the does and how they have grown out. We love the fact that Edie
was very honest with us on all parts of the deal and willing to help my son
learn more. We recently purchased my son, Tyler, two wethers and were very
pleased with how they did at the Cullman show. This was their first time out and
he had only had them for a month to work with them and they placed 2nd and 3rd
in their classes. Tyler can't wait to show them again and is finally interested
in showing wethers. We also recently purchased a beautiful
South African Buck from Edie and can't wait to see the kids he throws.
We will definitely buy from Wildwind
Farm again in the future.

When we first decided to raise goats, like most people, we began searching for information on the Internet. We found the usual mega-sites around the world (and countless other smaller sites). But when we refined our search to Alabama, we kept finding references to Wildwind Farm and Edie Grover. Everyone seemed to know her, and everyone thought very highly of her expertise, knowledge and willingness to help, in the name of improving the breed of Boer goats and to care for them. We made a note to contact her when we were ready to buy our starter herd.
By a fortuitous meeting at a goat cheese seminar, we decided to visit Wildwind Farm. Though we thought our starter herd might be months away, we were convinced by Edie's operation and her detailed guidance that we could step up much faster. A month later we were Boer goat farmers, and they are such beautiful and charming creatures. Edie has helped guide us in everything from feeding and genetics to securing and doctoring our herd. We certainly could have gotten our Boers from elsewhere, but they could not possibly be finer animals with more support than what we have found from Edie at Wildwind Farm.

I have known Edie Grover for several years. She is an informed producer with a touch of class. I have been very impressed with Edie and her vast knowledge in raising goats. Not only she has great genetics in her goats, she also offers her expertise to help in choosing the best goat that fits your condition. I was not looking for a show goat per se, but for good genetics and support. She is 100% behind what she provides and goes extra mile to accommodate the clients. She knows goats and she knows how to raise excellent genetics. I am a goat nutritionist by trade and have been working (research) with goats for more than 18 years. I have visited several farms and have been exposed to many goats nationally and internationally (South Africa). Last summer when we started building our seed herd of purebred Boer goats, I visited Wildwind Farm and found some of the best purebred and full blood Boer goats in the Southeast. I fell in love with Edie’s Boer goats and presently, Tuskegee University Caprine Research Unit is the proud owner of some excellent quality Boer goats that Edie has produced.

Wildwind Farm has taken some of the best genetics found in the Boer Goat Industry, blended them together, and is now producing outstanding genetics of their own! Edie Grover is to be commended on the job she has done with choosing bloodlines that compliment and improve upon each other. I have been a part of the goat industry since 1999, have been an Agricultural Specialist for all but 2 of those years, and I had the opportunity to visit goat farms from SW Mississippi to Central Tennessee. During that time I have seen plenty of good animals, but never the consistent quality of does and bucks that can be seen at Wildwind Farm. For those of you who have not visited Wildwind Farm and have not seen the herd that Edie has, you have missed an opportunity to see one of the best Boer Goat herds in the Southeastern United States. Wildwind Farm is the only place I go when it is time to choose a herd sire for my farm. The quality genetics which come from Wildwind Farm has made vast improvements upon the quality of my herd. Any time I have visited with Edie Grover to determine my next herd sire she has been most generous with her advice and time. At the end of each visit, and based on our conversation, Edie has been able to determine which of her bloodlines will give me the improvements I am seeking. Each selection has resulted in an overall improvement upon the quality of my herd. Her years of experience with raising sheep, goats, and rabbits, the knowledge she has to share; and the quality of animals seen on her farm, is what makes her a leader in the Small Ruminant Industry. Take the time to visit this website, call Edie Grover and make arrangements for a visit to her farm, then see her animals, and I guarantee you will walk away in awe at the quality of animals seen at Wildwind Farm. Being familiar with the bloodlines Edie has acquired over the years, then seeing what she has done by blending and managing those genetics to produce top quality animals is truly awesome. Anyone seeking top quality animals and good genetics to add to their farm should visit other farms to compare what is available, and then visit Wildwind Farm to make their final and best choice.
Pictures are of some of my 2006 kid crop from one of Edie’s bucks.

There are three words that sum up the stock produced at Wildwind Farm- "Simply the Best"
We have visited numerous farms around the Southeast and have not seen the top quality genetics that are produced year after year at Wildwind. Wildwind genetics have been formulated and breed from "Top Champion Genetics" to produce the the stock that Wildwind is now producing. Edie Grover owner of Wildwind Farm, is not just another "Local Goat Rancher" she has proven that she has the knowledge and experience to produce "Top Quality Stock". Buying show stock or "borrowing" show stock is one thing. but when you produce "Top Quality Winning Stock" for over a decade, That says it all.

We purchased Wildwind stock for show for the '05-'06 show season and we definitely have not been disappointed. Besides being healthy, parasite resistant and beautiful, they all placed very well at the shows we attended. With two of the wethers, Wildwind's Buddy and Wildwind's Jack, we racked up 4 seconds, 7 firsts, 1 reserve champion and 2 grand champions at 7 different shows under 7 different judges. The full blood doe we purchased, Wildwind's Mitzy, came in with 4 firsts, 2 grand champions and 1 grand champion overall at 4 different shows and again under 4 different judges. And that's just the beginning. We are still relatively new in the show arena and in the goat business, but thanks to Edie Grover we are off to a wonderful start. We are very appreciative of her willingness to share information from feeding, to grooming, to showing.
Why look at stock out of state when we have one of the best breeders in our own backyard?
We are thankful for our association with Wildwind Farm and Edie Grover and her family. Edie is a great source of information, always willing to help anyone who asks. The goats we have purchased over the years have been parasite resistant and very easy keepers. It is rare that you can competitively show a doe who is nursing a 2 month old kid. Sassy never even looked like she had kidded except for the big bag. Edie has the most uniform herd of goats from a quality perspective that I have ever seen. Edie has the ability to look at the genetics involved and plan breedings accordingly. We have benefited from our relationship with Edie Grover and we look forward to the years to come!

I am Allysa Andrews from Eclectic, Alabama. I have only bought my goat stock from Wildwind Farm and have been very pleased with the results at shows all over the place in several states. I think Mrs. Edie Grover is the best breeder of Boer Goats in the South East. I have purchased wethers for three years from Wildwind and have won over and over again. The 06 show season I had the Grand Champion wether in 6 shows under 6 different judges with Wildwind's Rod who is now retired @ "Grandma Edies". (Mrs.Edie has been like a Grandma to me) "Grandma" Edie is ALWAYS willing to help me with grooming feeding and showing tips. It is a total package when you buy from Wildwind Farm. Thanks "GRANDMA" I LOVE YOU!!

I have been thrilled with the quality of the goats purchased from you and you stand behind the quality of your animals.
